Hey, I’m Shelby - the photographer behind 505Photography. I’m a self-taught photographer based in Northeast Indiana, a wife, and a proud dog mom to two oversized Bernese Mountain Dogs who absolutely think they own the studio.

Photography became more than a career for me. It became a way to preserve the feeling of a moment. The loud laughter, the quiet in-between glances, the chaos, the connection, the realness of it all. That’s the energy I bring into every session.

As an LGBTQ+ owned business, creating a space where people feel safe, comfortable, and celebrated is at the heart of everything I do. I want your session to feel relaxed, genuine, and fun - never stiff or overly posed. Just you being fully yourself.

The Story Behind 505Photography

The name 505Photography comes from a chapter of my life that changed everything. When I was 18, I moved to Santa Fe and completely fell in love with the southwest. The 505 area code became a symbol of growth, creativity, freedom, and finding beauty in unexpected places. What started as a number eventually became part of my identity as an artist and storyteller.

That season of life taught me to slow down and notice the little things - golden light spilling across the desert, quiet moments between people, raw emotion, and the beauty in simply being present. Those experiences shaped the way I photograph today. I don’t just want to capture what a moment looked like. I want to capture what it felt like.

Today, that same passion fuels every session I photograph. From weddings and couples to seniors, boudoir, families, branding, and everything in between, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, emotional, and timeless.

I believe the best photos happen when you feel comfortable enough to truly be yourself. That’s why I focus on creating a laid-back experience filled with movement, connection, laughter, and genuine moments instead of stiff poses and forced smiles.

At the end of the day, photography is about preserving the people and memories that matter most. The photographs we create together are more than just images - they become part of your story, frozen pieces of time you’ll be able to look back on for years to come.
